BSDEF Programs 

​

Donations received and funds raised by the BSDEF are used to support BSDEF’s three programs: 
 

Post-Secondary Education Scholarships 

​

The BSDEF awards merit-based scholarships to senior students enrolled in the Blackhawk School District based on their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, field of study, and/or additional criteria to fund post-secondary education endeavors. 
 

Educational Enrichment 

​

The BSDEF supports teachers and students in the Blackhawk School District with educational enrichment opportunities through two targeted initiatives:

 

• Student Enrichment Grants—Teachers can apply for funding for field trips, in-classroom programming, educational supplies and materials, and other initiatives that align with the BSDEF mission. All educational enrichment endeavors are subject to the approval of the Blackhawk School District administration.

• Student Aide Support— This initiative supports students and families in need by providing essential resources, including clothing, food, assistance with utility bills, and other critical necessities. It also funds the High School and Middle School Clothing Closets, ensuring students can access clothing and essentials. Support is provided discreetly and respectfully, preserving the dignity and privacy of the students and families receiving assistance.

 

Asset Improvement 
 

This program provides funding for facility upgrades and resource improvements in collaboration with the Blackhawk School District. Any items purchased under this program become the District's property, ensuring long-term benefit to students and staff.  Funding decisions are made in collaboration with District leaders to ensure alignment with school priorities.
